Understanding diverse microbial communities: An interview with A. Murat Eren (Meren) | The Molecular Ecologist

Soon after A. Murat Eren (known as Meren) came to the ߣƵ's Bay Paul Center as a postdoctoral scientist in 2011, he began turning heads with his creative, computation-based approaches to visualizing and discovering microbial diversity. Today,  is an assistant professor at the University of Chicago, an ߣƵ Fellow, and a faculty member in the ߣƵ Strategies and Techniques for Analyzing Microbial Population Structures (STAMPS) course, which begins this week.

Writing for the "Molecular Ecologist," Kelle Freel presents a Q & A with Meren that touches on his "interesting, eclectic" background, his values, and his scientific goals.
